Continue standing at the bus stop, even once the bus has come to a complete stop. Back up away from the door if necessary, and allow passengers to get off of the bus. Once it seems like everyone who is getting off at the stop is off of the bus, walk through the door that’s located towards the front of the bus. Once you’ve paid, look for an open seat and sit in it. If you can’t find one, stand somewhere that’s as out of the way as possible. How do you read a road number?
If no routes take you directly to where you need to go, look on the map at the different routes that stop near your starting location. Then, see if those routes intersect with any other routes that lead to your destination. Often, bus timetables are colored-coded to represent each route.

Riding and Getting Off of the Bus

Livonia Community Transit provides "To Work" service for passengers coming into Livonia from the SMART and D-DOT bus systems. It operates similar to a fixed route where passengers are shuttled to and from the SMART and D-DOT locations to selected Livonia bus stops. SMART and D-DOT locations are considered "hubs". The "To Work" program operates Monday through Friday only. There is no weekend service and service is not available on major holidays.
Service Types

Chamblee, Elevator 1 is out of service for renovation. Mobility shuttle service provided from Chamblee to Doraville. Streetcar service remains suspended, due to scheduled maintenance work. Mobility shuttle vans will service all streetcar stops. Customers are allowed to bring bikes on buses that are equipped with a bike rack. All buses are equipped for wheelchair access, but special Mobility access is available. While learning how to ride the bus to get from point A to point B may seem overwhelming, it’s usually relatively simple. After taking a couple of trips on the bus, you’ll be riding it like a pro. When Fixed Route is not available to get you to your destination, a SMART same day shuttle may do the trick! SMART Dial-A-Ride, Flex Route, and Shuttles are curb-to-curb services for work, school, shopping, medical appointments, and to connect you to SMART Fixed Route buses.
The Federal Department of Transportation has recently revised the rules for the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Individuals with disabilities may request that GoRaleigh make reasonable accommodations in order to fully use transit services. All requests should be made by submitting a Reasonable Accommodation Request verbally or in writing.
When your second bus arrives, board the bus and place your transfer in the farebox. Just like you can transfer between SMART routes, you can transfer from DDOT to SMART or from SMART to DDOT. It makes you more attractive to new recruits.Providing a private shuttle service might give you an edge over other employers in your area. If your office isn’t located near a public transportation stop, your shuttle might be the reason why someone who typically relies on public transportation chooses your office over another. Plus, for all of the reasons stated above, your current employees will be happy with the perk as well.
